Highland New Wind Development

Highland New Wind Development (HNWD) is a private company developing Virginia’s first fully-permitted utility-scale wind energy project, located on two parcels of land along Highland County’s West Virginia border.  ANTARES assisted HNWD in updating the project site plan to reflect setbacks imposed by the county, updated wind resource models to work with newer wind turbines, submitting permitting documentation to the FAA, and developed visual simulations of turbine plans for use by the county and the State Department of Historic Resources.
