Regional Biomass Residue Price and Supply Curves for Biopower and EIA Forecasts, Energy Information Administration (EIA)

ANTARES developed the first comprehensive supply curve for woody biomass residue supplies in the United States. This effort included the collection of biomass supply information on a state-by-state basis. This raw information was processed using ANTARES' proprietary residue supply model which is used to account for transportation and processing costs. The results of the analysis yielded biomass supply curves that indicate the quantities of biomass fuels that may be obtained at a given delivered price. The supply curve model provides state, regional, and national aggregates.

Since 1999, the Energy Information Administration has utilized these supply curves to project the market penetration of biomass power technologies in its Annual Energy Outlook.
