Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) Technology Roadmap, U.S. Department
of Energy - Office of Solar Programs
ANTARES assisted the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in defining technology
priorities and performance goals through creation of an R&D roadmap
for CSP technologies. ANTARES met with industry representatives - collectively
known as CSP Inc. - to gather critical technical and market inputs and
identify key R&D issues. A major objective was to coordinate these
inputs/issues among the participants representing the solar trough, solar
dish, and power tower systems industry segments and arrive at an industry-agreed
consensus. Those inputs were assembled by ANTARES into a cohesive and
comprehensive programmatic R&D document in a format that was easily
understood by a broad (technical and lay person) audience.
Another input
which was investigated was the potential for DOE/State collaborative efforts
on CSP technology. ANTARES conducted conversations with select states
to gauge interest in collaborative efforts in CSP technology which would
leverage the knowledge and resources of both entities. A paper was prepared
to define topics of interest and outline the process of collaboration
and potentially identify future project work.
